In 2023 we painted all the fencing at a Horsham home, and in July 2026 we repainted the lounge of an Airbnb holiday-let property in the town (case study below).

Horsham is an old market town with newer estates wrapped around it, so one week might mean careful cutting-in on the uneven walls of an older cottage and the next a straightforward repaint of a modern semi in Southwater or Broadbridge Heath.

Why outdoor timber needs more attention round here

Much of the ground around Horsham is heavy Weald clay, which holds water through the winter. Fence posts, shed bases and the bottom rails of gates stay damp for months, so exterior paint and treatment on low-level timber wears faster than it would on drier ground — worth keeping on top of before the wood itself starts to go.
